Although Xiaomi continues to carry out the MIUI 12.5 app update to some of its phones, a new report claims that the next MIUI update will be released in the second quarter of this year. According to the paper, MIUI 13 will be available on June 25. However, the firm is yet to make a formal announcement.

Xiaomi is well-known for sponsoring versions that are up to four years old and on the lower end of the pricing range. This time, though, this could not be the case.
The article states that the upgrade will not be available until 2019 on older models. The phones that cannot be updated include Xiaomi Mi 9, Mi MIX 3, Redmi Note 8 and Redmi 8.
With regard to features associated with MIUI 13, a new user interface on Xiaomi devices can be provided. It can also include optimised animations, new themes and wallpapers, and several enhancements in protection.
